Hanging out at the swing..
We had a great week camping with friends to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles (or Sukkot). Lots of time to visit, talk, sing, pray, eat and play! The children went on several hikes on the 85 acre farm. They even built a succah out in the woods on their own. There were many special moments. One particular moment was neat when several of the children (on their own, not directed by parents) gathered together with their own instruments and began to play and sing worship songs together.
We returned on Thursday and unloaded the vehicles and tried to get everything put away. I’m still working on that!
Yesterday, the children built miniature “succahs” out of graham crackers and dried fruit and nuts. They turned out very cute. Morgan even used pretzels to resemble a fire inside the succah.

Looks like a fun weekend with the kids. Good to see kids can still appreciate the great outdoors and forget about their Xbox 360s or whatever it is they have these days
Your Sukkot celebration sounds wonderful! I’ll try very hard not to be too jealous.
The children assembling themselves to worship is precious. “From out of the mouths of babes and infants…”
I remember making similar sukkot with our children, but we used candy instead of fruit and nuts. I like you idea much better!
I’m so glad to hear that your celebration was so memorable! Baruch HaShem!
Thanks Lisa. I must admit, the nuts and fruit was someone else’s idea. I liked it better than the “ginger bread house covered in candy idea”. Although it did have icing to hold the pieces together and the candy on top. I tried peanut butter, but it just wasn’t holding it together, so I resorted to some icing
Do you all have others in your area to fellowship with now? It is nice to have others to gather with. It’s great to be able to keep up with you on FB too.
Blessings to you today~
